Did We Skip Fall?

Dear Mother Nature,

I know you meant well by giving us so much extra rain this summer, and you probably figured we wouldn't need all that Summer anyway (thanks for being so thoughtful)...... after all, water is a life giving necessity. But I have to think you are playing a cruel joke now by cutting our Fall as well! What was that snow storm all about this Sunday!? I don't want to see anymore of this skipping fall business... no more snow until December please!

yours,
Lisa

This weekend we actually stayed home. I know, total miracle. We managed to get more boxes of stuff unpacked; but for some reason I feel like there's less places to put all this stuff than there was in the condo. I really don't get it. We started putting all our pictures and trinkets up on the walls everywhere (Mike's Dad would love it- as it looks like a $%*dam museum again). We didn't account for Vince being able to pull stuff off the walls, so we may have issues with the African spears and swords being a little bit too low. We'll fix it before we find out.

The weather was pretty horrible on Sunday, (see above letter to Mother Nature). On the bright side however, it allowed me to use our new fireplace for the first time! I have been super excited about the fact that we have a fireplace and couldn't wait to begin using it to warm up our house. What better way to inaugurate our first use of the fireplace but when it's snowing outside. And it was great. I put in enough duraflame logs and wood to kick up a roaring flame and then pretty much sat in front of it until it completely died several hours later. Mike and I curled up next to the warm flames and could have slept there all night!

I hear Mike's Dad used to make such huge bonfire's in their fireplace that everyone had to leave the room because it was so hot. I say bring it on! I love the heat, hopefully Mike gained that talent from his Dad, but so far he hasn't proved his bonfire abilities in our fireplace.

We spent part of Sunday braving the bad weather to help celebrate our friends twin's 3rd birthday party. It was held in the barn of a farm north of Boston

The 'Secret Garden' Theme

Megan and Natalie each got their own cake! Vince was confused when we sang happy birthday twice

Vince got to drive a John Deere Tractor all his own!
