We've had a difficult number of weeks with trying to get Vince to eat healthy foods. We constantly put out good choices for him, but it seems over the months he's continued to dwindle down the options of what he'll eat.... and it's getting really frustrating to Mike and me. Mealtimes are turning into a rush of going back and forth to the fridge trying to guess what he'll eat tonight. He used to eat tomatoes all the time, that was our fall back if other veggies were out. Now he just sticks them on his thumbs and plays thumkin with them! He used to eat broccoli, sweet potato and yellow squash.... now he just pushes them around his tray until they turn into mush! It seems he's getting pickier and pickier about what he'll eat and we just don't know what to do anymore. Tonight we just gave in after trying to get him to eat some pot roast and cooked carrots/potatoes... he didn't even touch them and said he was done after drinking his milk. We finally gave in and made him some hot dogs because we are so worried about him going to bed hungry..... well he ate both hot dogs right up!! ARRRGGHH! Anyone have any ideas?
Vince at school pretending to be a Nurse Practitioner like his mommy

Other things going on: well, I'm pregnant again if you haven't seen the ticker at the top of the blog! That's right, Vince is going to be a big brother and we are very excited. I'm 16 weeks along now and thankfully over the nausea/vomiting, which hit me like a storm this time. Vince's Auntie Lisa got him some big brother books so we've been reading those to him for preparation. He's learned to point at my tummy and say baby, but that's about as far as that goes. I'm sure it'll be a big shock to him, but we think he's going to be a fine big brother (once he learns to share his cars/trucks)
Other highlights from the last few weeks:
-Vince got his first real bonk on the head when he tripped and landed head first into the corner of our friend's very hard ottoman. Nice cherry right in the middle of his forehead for a while...
-We are officially converted to total suburbia, as we've purchased our family minivan! We are now proud owners of a black Honda Odyssey, which we are having LOTS of fun with actually. There's so much more room, we had to do it in prep for more family members to come. It even has a back up camera.. oh laa laa (which didn't help me when I ran over our garbage cans coming out of the driveway)
-There's a likely chance that I'll be able to cut down my hours at work to 3 days per week! This would mean a huge difference in our long week... I could be home spending time with Vince 2 times a week and get things done around the house, while Mike would get to work earlier and come home earlier. Hopefully this happens by March, we'll see.
-We've just got ourselves a babysitter that's here in the Braintree area and we are so excited at the opportunities this will create for us to be able to go out on dates once in while! Now we just have to muster up some energy to do that....
-Vince's vocabulary is growing exponentially each day. We REALLY have to watch everything we say because he's now our little parrot who repeats everything. He's pretty good at repeating words even when it's the first time he's heard or said the word! Mike taught him to yell out "Obama!" when we ask who the President is.... it's super cute!
-We are getting more and more artwork that Vince does at school, we've got quite a collection of paintings and projects! The latest one is a snowman they had to decorate with eyes, a scarf, and some mittens. Vince's snowman had 6 eyes (mainly on his bottom area), about 2-3 scarfs randomly stuck on his body, and 2 sets of mittens on his neck. It's the best snowman I've ever seen!
Mike took Vince to the Children's Museum on Martin Luther King Day as I had to work. He got to sit in a real bobcat! He fell in love with it of course, he loves machines.. yells out "bulldoder!" whenever he sees anything remotely similar to a bulldozer

Lunchtime! You can sort of see the bonk mark on his head... but it was already getting better
