38 week belly

It all started with this positive pregnancy test back in early October...... The most expensive piece of technology I've ever peed on.
And now I'm pretty much ready to pop any minute. After 37 weeks of pregnancy, if the baby were to be born it is not considered premature anymore but a full term baby. Knowing that, I feel like a bomb that could go off at any minute... feeling like what ever I do could 'set me off'. Usually first time moms don't deliver until after their due date, but I'm really rooting for a week before.... just to get it over with. I've started researching the wives tales of what a pregnant mom can do to bring on labor... some of which involves eating certain foods, walking a lot... etc.

It's also been unseasonably hot in Boston and this weekend I enjoyed the sun but was grateful that I won't be pregnant during the entire summer.

I also hoped to pop a week or so early.

I tried everything: long long walks, lots of sex, super spicy foods, pineapple.

My daughter was 3 days late :)

I know it's easier said than done, but just assume you'll go late, and enjoy your last few weeks of independence.

You are looking Good Mama! I was early with both of mine. I was just happy to get on with it! Now, I wish I had those nine days back before baby-dom to relish in my independence. Do all those things to pamper yourself and SLEEP ALOT (you will need it). You won't get the same quality of sleep ever again until your kids are out of the house.

I am looking forward to meeting the little guy/girl (rooting for a boy!) Call if you need anything.

Everyone says sleep, because you will never sleep again. If you are anything like me, you aren't sleeping all that great at 37+ weeks. I had to wake up to roll over. I think I get about the same amount of sleep now with the babies, but it's a better quality, I can lie in any position comfortably and roll over without a full body effort. My advice would be to go out for nice dinners and movies until you deliver and anything else you love to do. Dinners become a lot more complicated, many times we have to make a quick exit due to baby meltdown, and I am not sure when we will go out on a "date" night. The idea of paying a babysitter or submitting friends or family to watching twins has made the date night seem like a thing of the past. Also, it feels pretty weird leaving babies at home, but I am a bit of a cougar mom.

You look so great! You couldn't have timed your pregnancy any better! Having the twins in the middle of summer was brutal. I can't wait to see pictures! I love your blog...I check it all the time!!
