The Final Countdown

Tomorrow I'm expected to be able to go home!  I can't count the minutes fast enough.  It will depend on my cervix and whether or not it's still closed of course.  So be sending good thoughts my way for a normal exam in the morning!  Every day the nurses ask me the same thing, and no.... I haven't felt any contractions, no bleeding or leaking.

I've spent 10 days in the hospital and I can't say I have that much to show for it.  Instead of my plans to complete a blog post each day, finish up the kids baby albums, and write numerous overdue letters to friends across the globe, I've watched a total of 10 movies, finished all the episodes available for the PBS mini series Downton Abbey (highly recommended), read about the Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, and then I got sucked into the show Mad Men.  It's all been downhill after I started Mad Men.  There's about 12 episodes per season, each about 50 min long.  I've just finished season 2.

It's been a very long week, ending with an exciting day today of being able to see the kids and Mike, as well as my mom, who flew in on an overnight flight and landed this morning.  I'm so excited to see her and relieved she'll be able to help Mike out at home, who has sounded exhausted on the phone everyday and came in to my room this morning with some seriously blood shot eyes.  We certainly are blessed with good friends and neighbors that have helped in the evenings however, which made a huge difference.

Mainly, I can't wait to just be able to hug Vince and Zoë whenever I want to, and feel the sheets on my own bed.
