We have a bathroom again!

Here are some pictures of our new bathroom vanity, medicine chest, and light fixture... We finally got the granite counter top and sink put in on Friday so we now have a fully functional bathroom again! Mike has been planning on doing this project for a few years now, and we're happy that it was done before the baby came. Now he doesn't have any excuses not to work on the baby's room!

Not much other exciting news to report; we had our two day crash course birthing class this weekend. It was a lot of information over a short period of time, but it should do.

Here's some pictures of our bathroom:

Demolition Day

Say goodbye to our old bathroom!

Last week Mike took a couple of days off work to start our bathroom project. Time to get rid of that nasty gray tile! We'll be putting in new tile, a new vanity and sink, some new lighting, and a new medicine chest. For now we have to use the bathroom downstairs for everything, but today the toilet is going back in so that's good... seeing as I have to get up about 3 times a night to pee now!
As usual, when there is a project going on in our house, the cats often feel like they need to help Mike out in some way.... whether it is helping to paint the walls with their tails, or just sitting there and supervising while Mike does his job. Inevitably I heard a few curses at Animal yesterday to get the hell out of the bathroom while Mike painted the walls. So far so good, no paint on their fur yet.

Here's a demo shot with the new tile in.

We got our new couches! Their humongous

This morning we were bombarded with deliveries that we have been waiting for about a month now. We got our couches from Jordan's Furniture; and the bathroom store decided to deliver the new vanity and sink for our upstairs bathroom.... at the same time! The furniture guys were literally waiting in line to get up our stairs while the bathroom guys were struggling to get our stuff upstairs as well. It was chaos in the house for a little while.

To top it off, the people who bought our old couches only picked up one, so we still have one of the old couches.... and now these two huge couches to deal with! These new ones are a lot bigger than the old ones, it'll take a while to get used to. I feel like they take over the whole living room, but they are nice though! The cats have also managed to get comfortable on them... and already put a nice big scratch in on of them!! ARRRGGhhh. I'm afraid that will happen a lot.

One of the bathroom furniture guys was sooo intrigued with all the African art up on the wall, especially the weapons. He kept asking about where they were from and wanting to hear stories. I showed him some other Malawi stuff around the house and ended up giving him the Malawi coasters we have that I've NEVER used once. He freaked, he was so happy.

Animal, getting comfy (probably right before she dug her claws into the nice new leather)
So guess we need to cover them up with blankets.. or maybe that cool plastic furniture cover stuff that my grandma used to have.
Say goodbye to the old couches, we'll miss them!

Ok, We started one of these blogs... but it took a snow storm

Here is the shared courtyard to our condo and the outside stairs leading to our deck

And going out the courtyard to the street:

I really didn't want to go out this morning....

It's Monday morning, about 10am, and I'm at home because there's a pretty good snow storm happening in Boston today. I would be at my nurse practitioner clinical today working towards my 240 hours for the semester; but Boston has pretty much shut down and hence our clinic is closed today. Of course I trecked through the snow and slush to the clinic before finding that out.

That's ok though, I'm home now... and decided to start this blog so Mike and I could record our pregnant life... and our life in general! So stay tuned for lots of pictures and short stories about what's going on with us in Cambridge (unless I get lazy..... which is very possible).
