Right now I'm sitting on the couch with the computer in my lap, while Vince is emptying out everything from under the television cabinets: CD's, DVD's, records, you name it..... it's all being thrown across the floor into a random mess (hey kid, have a little respect for Bob Marley!). The most upsetting part of it is seeing all the giant balls of dust and cat hair that are getting dislodged and taking flight all over the living room.
I haven't had much time the last couple of weeks to update the blog, and I suppose I see proof right now of
NEVER having time to keep the living room free from dust and cat hair. Oh well, now that I have a minute why don't I just forget about the dust and update the blog, it's more fun than getting rid of dust that will just come back anyway!!
ok.... that was a couple of days ago, ran out of time... now I'm back... gotta finish this post!
quick side note before moving on: Mike had the great idea of securing a piece of plexiglass in front of the TV cabinet to keep Vince's paws off all the tempting materials. It's been endless laughter watching him try to figure out why he can see all the stuff he has been able to grab at in the past, but now cannot get to because of this clear plastic in front of it!
PART 1: MOTHER'S DAYMy first Mother's Day was so amazing and wonderful!! After being able to sleep in, I woke up to find Vince in the kitchen directing Mike to make me a bagel with salmon and cream cheese, complete with capers and red onion (my favorite!). I didn't have to lift a finger, my two men took care of everything. Then we went to the Arboretum in Jamaica Plain where they have Lilacs in bloom this time of year. It was a gorgeous and warm sunny day, so we headed out early and spent time walking around and smelling the wonderful aroma of Lilacs... while trying to get Vince to smell their scent as well. He mainly wanted to pull off the flowers though (I think he wanted to give me one for Mother's Day). I remembered to bring lots of baby sunblock and lather Vince up so he'd be protected from sunburn, but of course I completely avoided protecting myself... and ended up with a pink face and neck by the end of the day. Here's a few pictures of the bright and sunny day:

After we were done exploring the Arboretum, I went to my massage appointment that Vince (and Mike... thanks baby!) had organized for me, my boys know how much I LOVE massages. We ended the day by going to my favorite local place to get Mexican food and margarita's. Wow, I could get used to this Mother's Day thing once a year!
PART 2: AARON'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!happy birthday little man!

Vince getting a little crazy at the party, all the babies were letting loose

No, there was not any beer left in the bottle in case you're wondering!
Here he is, sitting at the big kid table! Vince was happy to discover he could push all his watermelon down the black hole in the middle of the table

Fun on the swings

Aaron has lots of super fun toys, take this tunnel for instance... oops, this is actually for the dogs to practice their training for obstacle courses! Oh well, the kids loved it. Maybe we'll put Vince in for a few competitions against the dogs
